Kindergarten - 5th Grade
At San Diego Hebrew Day, our elementary school blends academic excellence with whole-child development in a warm, nurturing environment. Through a dual curriculum of general and Judaic studies, students build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, science, Torah, Hebrew, and Jewish identity — with each subject reinforcing curiosity, character, and critical thinking.
Our K–5 pedagogy emphasizes personalized learning and data-informed instruction. Our experienced teachers use MAP Growth Assessments to tailor lessons, offering enrichment and support where needed. Social-emotional learning, empathy, and leadership are woven into the classroom experience, empowering each child to grow in confidence and resilience.
Elementary school students participate in unique programs including STEM challenges, art and music instruction, project-based learning showcases, field days, holiday celebrations, and character-building initiatives like our SuccessfulMe superhero program. By 5th grade, students are not only academically prepared — they are joyful, grounded, and proud of who they are.
